The Train

Oslo area, Norway - December 2005

I'll post this out of two reasons

  • I like the mood/light in the picture
  • For me the train represents the new year that's hitting me :o)

Thank you Magnus, http://magnus.shutterchance.com/ for some cropping help on this one

For the next days I'll show some pictures from Marocco - very different from this one

Very well photographed under difficult conditions Aksel. You have dealt with the problem of focussing on an oncoming subject very well. Exposure and composition are great, very well done. Many regards, Neil.
Aksel from Norway: Thank you - I just love to shoot in that short period where natural light is fading and mixing with other light. I often find that my surroundings are kind to me and give me pleasing results in that time gap :o)

I like this picture a lot, the red train against the white snow and dark buildings, as well as the pattern of the railway lines leading into the picture.

I wish you and yours a bright, happy and successful New Year.
Aksel from Norway: Thank you :o)

An excellent picture - strange feeling of a lot of detail yet simple. I hope you got off the rail line in time - of course you did, that's why we can look at this great picture smile
Aksel from Norway: Thank you. The station is a kind of curved, so I didn't stay on the railroad, that's probably the best :o) I always try my best to get a good shot but it's not worth risking my life for...

I, too, like the mood of this pic, Aksel. Everything about it--the time of day, the snow against the train's light, the curving tracks, the color, the houses in the background. Wonderful! So glad to have found your site. smile
Aksel from Norway: Thank you. Comments like this make my hobby even more fun, and it also makes me want to take better pictures :o)
